I am a charter member of GGEU and served as charter secretary pro-tem. I served as first vice-president of membership of GGEU after being the second vice-president of education.  My past experiences in leadership organization and communications have been an asset in my GGEU roles as well as other organizations such as The Links, Incorporated.   As a Neuroradiologist by profession, I have held leadership roles on hospital committees and professional organizations.

I believe in our shared vision with National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) and Electronic Association Parliamentarians (EAP).  We seek to provide parliamentary leadership to the world through the use of parliamentary procedures and are dedicated to educating leaders in effective well ordered meeting management expertise. Therefore, it is my intention to continue the strong educational platform of GGEU which fosters the study of parliamentary procedure, promotes the educational programs of NAP and assists GGEU members with the credentialing process while retaining and recruiting new members.

We are pleased to inform you of the January launch of our new member management system. The tools therein will allow us to keep you better informed, engaged, and involved in this wonderful organization. With that said, your GGEU dues payment of $25 is due with a deadline of January 31st. You will receive an invoice in your inbox soon and we invite you to enjoy our new automated payment process.  Our January Unit meeting and lesson is January 27, 2021 at 6:30 PM PST/8:30 PM CST. Please be advised that if you have an interest and/or expertise willing to share in serving on the Audit or Finance Committees, please respond to hello@ggeu.org by January 3, 2022.

It is my honor to receive the baton passed from Inaugural President Lucy Hicks Anderson, PRP to Beth Sapp James, PRP and now to me in this effort to produce excellence in the meetings of the members that we touch, nationally and internationally.

Our theme “Parliamentary PAR Excellence” will be the focus of this administration informing all that we do. Thank you to our outgoing and incoming Board of Directors for their hard work during this transition. We look forward to learning and growing with you in this biennium and hope to welcome you all at our January meeting in the new year. Again, enjoy the holidays!

Warm regards,

Karen Cole, MD, PRP
